Jesse Vergen, chef and co-owner of The Saint John Ale House, has been selected be one of the judges for Food Network Canada’s newest culinary competition, Wall of Chefs.
Produced by Corus Studios and hosted by TV personality Noah Cappe, the series will be a 10-episode run, which will debut February 3 on Food Network Canada.
Vergen is already well-known as a Food Network Canada personality, competing on Food Network Canada’s Top Chef Canada and Top Chef Canada All-Stars. He’s looking forward to being a judge this time around.
“When I was first cast, I was most looking forward to sitting on the other side of the table instead of being on the competitor side, as I have been in that position on Food Network Canada’s Top Chef Canada Season 4 and Top Chef Canada All Stars,” said Vergen.
“I was very excited to see how the competitions go down from the judge’s perspective and to be able to get to view the action through that lens.”
The contestants will battle their way through intense culinary challenges until the victor is crowned and awarded the $10,000 grand prize.
Each challenge will be judged by “The Wall,” a formidable revolving panel of Canada’s most notable chefs.
Wall of Chefs’ contestants come from British Columbia to Newfoundland, bringing differing and diverse cultures, opinions, and of course cuisine to the show.
“It was overwhelming to be included with such an amazing, talented group of chefs. It’s a huge thing for me to promote my province’s cuisine and to be able to do so on a national stage is absolutely amazing,” said Vergen.
I’m thrilled to be a part of #WallofChefs, an epic new competition series on @FoodNetworkCA! Make sure to tune in on February 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT to watch the premiere! pic.twitter.com/zM5XI2gR04
