Canadian luggage retailer Bentley will close its uptown Saint John location in the new year.
Spokesperson Ginette Harnois said the Brunswick Square store will close before the end of February.
“The date may vary but it will not [stay open] beyond Feb. 28, 2020,” said Harnois in an email Monday, adding around four to five employees will be affected.
Harnois said the closure is part of the company’s restructuring plan, which was announced last week.
“While it is too early to identify the exact number of store closures or head office impact, Bentley will be closing less profitable stores while planning to keep the majority of its stores,” said the company on Nov. 27.
Harnois said the company will also close two other New Brunswick stores in Campbellton and Saint-Basile.
Bentley’s other Saint John location in McAllister Place will not be affected, nor will its stores in Fredericton, Moncton or Bathurst.
