The group 100 Women Who Care of Greater Saint John gave out an early Christmas present Tuesday evening to wrap up their year of giving.
Group members heard pitches from three charities: the Coverdale Centre for Women, the Kingsway Care Centre and the Community Suicide Prevention Committee.
They voted to make a donation to the Coverdale Centre, and executive director Mary Saulnier-Taylor was given a cheque for $23,325.
Officials with the centre will come back to the next meeting to explain how they used the donation.
Since its inception in June 2013, 100 Women Who Care of Greater Saint John has donated just over $647,000 to 27 local charities.
The donations vary based on the $100 given by each member who attends each of the meetings.
