A former employee with the Department of Natural Resources is looking to take his experience into the legislature.
Rod Cumberland has announced he will seek the People’s Alliance nomination for the riding of St. Croix in a yet-to-be-called byelection.
The former deer biologist says his experience with government and education over the past 29 years has convinced him it is time to change what, in his view, is a “corrupted system.
In his release, Cumberland is quick to clarify he is no politician, but he does have a strong interest in representing what he calls the good folks of Charlotte County.
Cumberland says the People’s Alliance value of MLAs voting for their constituents is one of the only means for this to occur.
The riding of Saint Croix became vacant following the death of MLA Greg Thompson in September.
