More and more of us are carrying less and less cash, according to a new survey.
The Leger poll, commissioned by Square, noted Canadians carried an average of $45 in their wallets, which is down slightly from a year ago.
Maritimers carry around even less cash at about $41, which is also down from last year.
Women carry almost $7 less than men and suburban residents carry less than those living in cities.
In terms of groups, middle-agers have the lightest wallets at $28 while millennials are not far behind at $34.
The survey suggests Canadians overall are slowly but increasingly living without cash and prefer electronic payments with cards instead.
