Just over half of respondents in a new poll say they are satisfied with the performance of the provincial government under Premier Blaine Higgs.
If an election were held today, Narrative Research says the Progressive Conservatives would capture 37 per cent support, the Liberals would get 31 per cent, and 21 per cent would go to the Greens.
Support for both the People’s Alliance and the NDP was in the single digits.
As for which leader would be preferred as premier, Higgs was in the lead with 27 per cent, Liberal leader Kevin Vickers had 21 per cent, followed by Green Party leader David Coon.
People’s Alliance leader Kris Austin and interim NDP leader MacKenzie Thomason each had single-digit support.
The results are part of an independent telephone survey of Atlantic Canadians and are based on a sample of 800 adult New Brunswickers, conducted from Oct. 31 to Nov. 22. Overall results are accurate to within ± 3.5 percentage points, 95 times out of 100.
