Mobile food delivery service DoorDash is now offering service in select New Brunswick cities.
DoorDash, which allows users to order food from participating restaurants online and through its app, is now available in Saint John, Moncton, Riverview, and Dieppe.
Brent Seals, DoorDash’s country director of Canada, says growing the company’s presence in the country has been a priority.
“We launched in Canada in 2015 and have expanded our footprint to more than 100 cities this year. With every new market, we work to ensure that we have the best selection possible, with a diverse range of options, from local heroes to national brands,” said Seals, in an email to Huddle.
“The New Brunswick market offers a diverse customer base that is in need of the world-class service that we uniquely provide, in addition to fantastic merchants we’re excited to work with and help increase sales, bring in new customers, and improve operations.”
DoorDash was founded in 2013 with the goal of helping local businesses thrive by connecting them to the online economy. Its arrival in New Brunswick follows that of Skip the Dishes, a similar online food delivery that launched last fall. Seals says what makes DoorDash stand out from competing services is the selection of restaurants and their subscription service for customers, which gives them unlimited free deliveries.
“Our subscription service DashPass, a subscription service offering unlimited deliveries with $0 delivery fees, offers added convenience to customers without sacrificing the selection, flexibility and quality they crave,” said Seals.
Current restaurants on board with DoorDash in Saint John include Subway, Toro Taco, McDonald’s, Barred Rock Chicken, Freddie’s Pizza, Montana’s, Pomodori Pizza, Gogi’s, and Laura Secord, among others. In the Greater Moncton area, Swiss Chalet, Chatime, Copper Branch, Jungle Jim’s, Mimziz Macaron and NORM’s Pizza are among some of the retailers using DoorDash.
