One of New Brunswick’s largest early learning and childcare companies is under new ownership.
Dr. Erin Schryer has purchased Origins Natural Learning Childcare from founder Jennifer Arsenault.
Schryer, who joined as CEO in June 2018, said she is thrilled to take on this new role.
“We do hold licences to care for and provide early education to 475 families in our community,” said Schryer.
“I’m born and raised here, so it’s a very humbling position to have, as well.”
Origins Natural Learning Childcare was founded in 1995 as a small centre with five staff and 40 children in Millidgeville.
It now has three locations in Saint John and a fourth in the town of Quispamsis.
Our exciting news is below in the form of a letter to families from Jennifer. We are thrilled to be embarking on this…

Schryer, who specializes in early childhood development and early literacy, said the sale has been in the works since she first joined the company.
“We both thought it was really important that I first start with the company and make those relationships and ensure everyone is comfortable and happy,” she said.
Arsenault said Schryer is the right person to own and continue this company.
“She has more than proven her desire to take on this role, to grow the company and provide a fresh and current approach,” said Arsenault in a news release.
“She walks in the market we serve with two young children herself and offers our clients and community the very best.”
Arsenault will remain with Origins for the next year to help with the transition.
Schryer said parents and staff will see very few changes as a result of the sale.
“That was part of the goal for Jennifer and I about me coming in in July 2018 was to start making some small changes or things that I think needed to be focused on a little bit more. That’s been going on since then,” she said.
“It’ll just be a continuation of enhancing what we do.”
