Travelling for the New Year could get a bit difficult with snow in the forecast.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of New Brunswick.
Meteorologist Darin Borgel says the snow is expected to begin in southwest New Brunswick in the morning and will arrive in the Moncton area by early afternoon.
“Likely in the 15 to 20 centimetre range. Possibly 25 centimetres before it changes over to showers in the evening. Also could be some ice pellets mixed in there as well,” said Borgel.
Borgel says central and northern New Brunswick is expected to be the hardest-hit area, with up to 30 centimetres expected.
“They will get some additional snow into New Year’s Day as well,” he said.
Borgel expects we’ll see snowfall warnings issued later on today.
