Canada has captured the gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
Team Canada came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Russia 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.
Akil Thomas had the game-winning goal for Canada with just under four minutes left in the third period.
It is the 18th time Canada has won the international tournament and the third time in the past six years.
After a scoreless first period, Yegor Zamula scored for Russia at 9:37 of the second.
Canada’s Dylan Cozens scored a power play goal less than 90 seconds later to tie the game at 1-1.
Russia took a 2-1 lead with just over five minutes left in the period on a goal by Grigori Denisenko.
They extended their lead to 3-1 early in the third with a goal by Maxim Sorkin at 8:46.
But Canada responded just 34 seconds later as Connor McMichael recorded his fifth goal of the tournament.
Barrett Hayton tied the game at 3-3 just over two minutes later and Akil Thomas shot the game-winning goal with just 3:58 left in regulation.
Joel Hofer stopped 35 of 38 shots for Team Canada. He was ranked the number one goalie of the tournament with a 0.9392 save percentage.
