Low-income families that are struggling to pay their energy bills can now get a boost from the province.
Applications are now open for the Home Energy Assistance Program, which provides a $100 benefit to help families cope with high energy costs.
To be eligible, you must have been a resident of New Brunswick as of December 2018 and filed a 2018 tax return in the province.
Total family incomes must also be $30,000 or less.
A copy of your most recent electricity bill is also required. If electricity costs are included in your rent, you must include the name and phone number of your landlord.
Only one benefit per household will be provided.
The deadline to submit is June 30th. Applications are available online.
