Have you ever wondered what goes on at the Saint John Police Force besides all the arrests and interviews?
Now you can find out thanks to a new initiative by the manager of communications and public information.
Jim Hennessy has done a series of interviews as part of a new series called “Behind the Badge”.
Hennessy says he got the idea after a tour of the building last September when he was hired for his position.
“As we were making our way around the building meeting with different people, and of course being a former journalist, I was like, ‘you know, there is a lot of interesting perspectives as to what goes on here at the force daily’ and I wanted to highlight that,” stated Hennessy.
Hennessy says it gives people a chance to tell their story and for others to learn more about the force.
“They are between three and four-minute interviews with different people, whether it be human resources, sworn officers or civilian members here to kind of give people a different perspective, that it’s not all just about driving around in a police vehicle and making an arrest,” said Hennessy.
The first segment of “Behind the Badge” is with Chief Bruce Connell.
