Since so many New Year’s resolutions are often broken by now, is it even worth making them?
Dietitian Loreen Wales says it’s perfectly fine to make resolutions such as losing weight.
But she says the problem is we often get started with lofty goals.
Wales notes how losing weight is not a goal but rather an outcome and you need to change certain behaviours to achieve it.
“You need to just start small and progress gradually. Celebrate the baby steps and the wins along the way. But get back into reality and recognize that there is no magic solution.”
Wales believes the best solution is to engage in your own self-care and health.
