“I’m in, stay tuned”.
That’s all Peter MacKay had to say on Twitter last week to indicate he was running for the Conservative leadership to replace Andrew Scheer.
MacKay was back on social media on Friday to announce his formal launch will be on Facebook Live on Saturday morning from Nova Scotia.
“We are building a party that will protect and work for you. A party you can be proud of. A party that is going to get ready and win and replace Justin Trudeau in the next general election,” MacKay said.
Rona Ambrose, Pierre Poilievre and Jean Charest are among the high-profile names announcing this week they are not in the race.
A new Conservative leader will be chosen on June 27th, 2020.
