More confirmation from the prime minister he has received the message from voters that Canadians want the government to do better.
Speaking at the Liberal caucus retreat in Ottawa on Thursday, Justin Trudeau added that includes getting along with the other parties.
“Bickering, grandstanding, heavy politics, none of these things create jobs. They don’t make anyone’s retirement safer or our environment cleaner,” said Trudeau.
Trudeau repeated pledges for a universal pharmacare plan, banning all military-style assault weapons, and ratifying the new NAFTA.
The prime minister also pointed to some lofty environmental targets.
“Exceeding our current 2030 targets and developing a plan to achieve a net-zero emissions economy by 2050,” he said.
Parliament will resume on Jan. 27.
