The price gap between legal and illegal cannabis is widening the most in New Brunswick according to Statistics Canada.
The national agency gathered its information during the fourth quarter of 2019 from crowdsourcing.
New Brunswick also had the lowest price per gram for illegal cannabis in the country at $4.90.
Meantime, the province also had the dubious distinction of having the highest price per gram for legal cannabis at $11.36.
Nationwide, Quebec had the lowest price of the legal product while Ontario had the highest price for the illegal variety.
Canadians spent a total of $1.5 billion on both the legal and illegal variety of cannabis during the third quarter of 2019 and the majority of those purchases were made illegally.
