Ontario’s top doctor confirms the province’s “presumptive” first case of the Wuhan coronavirus.
The Chief Medical Office of Health, Dr. David Williams is reporting a patient was admitted to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.
It was a patient with “a fever and respiratory symptoms.” The person also had a “recent travel history to Wuhan, China” and has been put into isolation.
“All appropriate infection prevention and control measures were followed by both paramedics and the hospital,” said Dr. Williams.
A specimen test was sent to the Public Health Ontario Laboratory and was confirmed on Saturday a “presumptive positive test.”
