A lot of your questions about the coronavirus can be answered during a question and answer session at Saint John High School.
Dr. Kimberly Barker, medical officer of health for the south region, will dispel some of the myths and misinformation surrounding the contagious virus which affects the respiratory system.
Anglophone South School District Superintendent Zoe Watson says they thought it was a proactive move to hold this session with the parent group “It Takes A Village”, which represents all four high schools in the city.
“They were in touch in with Dr. Kim Barker on Friday and we collectively decided it would be a proactive initiative to offer a public session,” Watson said.
Watson says people always have questions about what the school district is doing to keep people safe.
“And often there are many myths and misinformation out there so, it’s a great idea to offer a public session,” Watson said.
She says they sent out information to parents through the School Connects messaging service last week and a letter from Dr. Jennifer Russell, the chief medical officer of health, was sent home with students.
They also did a bit of a refresher with students about health protocols.
“It was a good time to review with students good hand-washing habits and etiquette around coughing and sneezing. All of those proactive things we can do to keep everyone well,” Watson said.
The session was scheduled for Thursday evening but has been postponed until Monday due to the weather. It will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Dennis Knibb Auditorium.
