Saint John police are warning people about a possible scam involving business vouchers.
Police say a person found an online ad which promised a business voucher for a night at a hotel for “a great price”.
“The person made contact with the seller and was asked to meet at a local business. Once there, the person made a payment and was given a voucher,” said spokesperson Jim Hennessy in a news release.
But when the person contacted the business to confirm the reservation, Hennessy said they were told the voucher was invalid.
“The SJPF are reminding residents to please be aware of this scenario and always practice caution when conducting business online,” said Hennessy.
