The New Brunswick Liberals have officially chosen their candidate for the upcoming byelection in the riding of Saint Croix.
Former MP Karen Ludwig was voted in during a nomination convention in St. Stephen on Saturday.
Ludwig has lived in the riding for over three decades. She announced her interest in running in the byelection last month.
The seat in Saint Croix has been left empty since last September, following the death of MLA Greg Thompson.
Ludwig now joins two other official candidates in the race: Kathy Bockus for the PCs and Rod Cumberland for the People’s Alliance.
The Greens and the NDP have yet to choose a candidate.
Premier Blaine Higgs has until March 10th to set a date for the by-election.
