Things are returning to normal on the campus of Mount Allison University after the end of a six-day strike by faculty and librarians.
Classes were suspended during last week’s job action.
Mount Allison Students’ Union president Emelyana Titarenko says students will be receiving compensation.
“Students will be receiving a $200 inconvenience fee – compensation – for the impact that the strike has had on students.”
In addition, Titarenko says international students will receive a $100 registration deposit.
Despite losing five class days last week, she notes how only three instructional days will be missed since two days can be made up at the end of the term.
Titarenko adds the students’ union had been advocating for some kind of compensation in the event class time was lost.
Students didn’t receive any compensation during a three-week-long strike at the university in 2014.
