The Sussex Skating Club is holding a workshop on February 22nd with three-time World figure skating champion Elvis Stojko.
Stojko will be working with 90 kids from all over New Brunswick at the 8th Hussars Sports Centre.
This is the first time Sussex has hosted a workshop of this size; high ice usage fees have kept the skating club from providing opportunities like this in the past.
The town wanted to give its skaters a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn in-person with one of their skating idols while also skating with him.
Participants will get two hours of ice time with Stojko, as well as a nutrition class and a yoga session.
Admission will be $5 per person, and free for children ages five and under. Members of the public are invited to watch the workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
