Athletes from across the province are competing at the New Brunswick Seniors Curling Championship in Moncton this weekend.
The action is happening this weekend at Curl Moncton. Seven men’s and seven women’s teams are competing.
They’re looking to represent the province at the national competition in Manitoba in March.
Sherril Minns, chair of the competition, says the sport offers seniors a number of health benefits as well as a social event.
Minns says special mechanisms, including a stick to launch the rocks, allow seniors to continue curling well into their senior years, adding some even play into their late 80s and early 90s.
