Hundreds remain without power following Thursday’s messy mix of wintry weather.
More than 400 homes and businesses were off the grid in Charlotte Southwest as of 1 p.m. Friday.
NB Power’s website shows most of the outages extend from Musquash to the Back Bay area.
The utility said the outages should be restored before Friday evening.
Snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and strong winds impacted the area Thursday afternoon and evening.
Stephen Hatt, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said Saint John saw about 17 millimetres of precipitation — some fell as snow, some as ice pellets.
Hatt said freezing rain was also reported on and off over a period of seven hours.
The Francophone South School District delayed all of its buses by one hour Friday morning. There was no district-wide delay for the Anglophone South School District, but some of its buses were running late.
