A 48-year-old Saint John man appeared in court briefly in connection with two armed bank robberies.
William Steen was arrested on Thursday and charged in the January 2nd robbery at the BMO branch in Lancaster Mall on the west side and the February 13th robbery at the Bayview Credit Union on King Street uptown.
Steen was charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon and two counts of having his face masked.
He did not enter pleas on any of the charges.
Steen will remain in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on April 3rd, 2020.
There were no reported injuries in either robbery.
