The thank you letters and touques for this years’ Saint John Snow Angels are arriving in mailboxes this month.
32 residents were nominated by family, friends and neighbours for their efforts in helping fellow residents through the trials of winter.
The City of Saint John received reports of Snow Angels clearing driveways, cars, sidewalks, picking up groceries, escorting walkers home, and delivering hats and mittens to those in need.
“Winter can present additional challenges for citizens, be it physically, mentally, financially or otherwise,” said Mayor Darling. “The Saint John Snow Angel campaign is a small way to recognize citizens who make those extra efforts to care for others.
The mayor delivered a toque and thank you letter in person to Ed Driscoll, one of this years’ Snow Angels. Driscoll wears his toque even when receiving treatment for cancer.
This is the second year in a row for the Saint John Snow Angels.
103 people have been recognised since the campaign began.
