Prince Edward Island has its first-ever houseguest on Big Brother Canada.
Twenty-six-year-old Vanessa Clements is also the only one from Atlantic Canada who will appear this season.
“I’m from Mill River, Prince Edward Island, and I am a lobster fisherman. Fishing lobster is definitely a male-dominated industry. I love proving to men that woman can do it, and do it better,” Clements says.
Clements says as a fisherman, she doesn’t think people will view her as a mastermind manipulator. She plans to use that to her advantage by gaining trust from the others.
“I’m super proud to say I am this first Islander to play Big Brother Canada. P.E.I., I am your girl, I am not going to let you down. You best believe that I am going to bring the win home to the Island,” Clements says.
Big Brother Canada sees 16 houseguests living in a home under constant video surveillance.
They have no communication with the outside world and no access to the Internet or phones.
One contestant is voted out each week.
Season 8 of Big Brother Canada debuts on Wednesday night on Global.
