One of the largest cannabis producers in Canada is making major cuts and will be eliminating about 500 jobs.
Ontario-based Canopy Growth Corporation has announced it’s shutting down two greenhouses in British Columbia.
The company has also cancelled plans to build a third greenhouse in Ontario’s Niagara region.
Canopy Growth says the recreational market has been growing much slower than anticipated in the 18 months since legalization.
The producer also plans to focus more on outdoor cannabis cultivation rather than greenhouses.
