New Brunswick’s employment numbers were nearly unchanged in February, according to Statistics Canada.
The latest labour force survey, released Friday, shows the province added 1,500 full-time jobs and lost 1,400 part-time positions.
But the unemployment rate fell 0.6 percentage points to 6.9 per cent as fewer people searched for work.
Compared to last February, the provincial economy added 4,100 jobs and the unemployment rate fell 1.5 percentage points.

From a national level, the economy added 30,000 jobs and the unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 5.6 per cent. Compared with 12 months earlier, employment rose by 245,000.
While there was little overall employment change in February, Statistics Canada said there were increases in Quebec, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Manitoba. Little change was observed in the remaining provinces.
The agency said there were more people working in wholesale and retail trade, in manufacturing, as well as in information, culture and recreation in February.
At the same time, employment declined in professional, scientific and technical services and in accommodation and food services.
