A special weather statement has been issued for most of the province.
Environment Canada is warning of possible freezing rain and snow.
The statement says periods of snow will begin overnight Monday night over central and northern New Brunswick
Meteorologist Roberta McArthur said there should be more positive temperatures in the Saint John area by late afternoon Tuesday.
“Saint John in particular probably won’t see too much in the way of accumulation. A bit more as you go up towards Moncton where we could see about two to four centimetres,” she said.
Snowfall is expected to be 10 to 20 centimetres for central to northern areas and up to five centimetres for southern areas.
“Saint John could see a potential risk of freezing rain for the morning hours tomorrow and that freezing rain line will likely shift further north towards the Fredericton, Saint John River Valley region by the afternoon,” McArthur said.
Environment Canada is asking residents to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts.
