Some New Brunswick and Nova Scotia residents have taken notice of a Navy vessel patrolling the waters lately.
HMCS Ville de Quebec is one of two vessels that has been at sea since April 16 ready to support Operation Laser, the Canadian Armed Forces’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The frigate has been observed in the Bay of Fundy and Saint Mary’s Bay in Nova Scotia.
A Facebook post notes many members of the ship’s company are from the communities affected by the weekend tragedy in Nova Scotia, which is why members of the Royal Canadian Navy decided to offer a show of solidarity for their brothers and sisters in arms.
On Wednesday, the vessel sailed into Minas Bay and past the town of Portapique, where the shooting spree began, to show support to RCMP and the police.
