City crews in Saint John have begun street line painting for another season.
Crews are now using a paint which requires about a minute to dry in good weather.
“This eliminates the need for crews to place traffic cones warning motorists of newly painted lines. Eliminating this step is more efficient as it saves crews from having to circle back to retrieve the cones,” said a release from the city.
Drivers are asked not to cut in between the street line painting truck and the support vehicle following it in order to keep crews safe and to allow the paint to dry properly.
The program, which covers about 410 lane kilometres across the city, is expected to continue until early fall.
