A lack of honesty is leading to some stressful moments for a couple of police officers in the K.V.
Two Kennebecasis Regional Police Officers responding to a call for assistance about 10 a.m. on Monday.
The call was not criminal.
Eventually, the officers learned the people involved failed to truthfully answer the questionnaire surrounding COVID-19 symptoms.
The officers, who were not wearing personal protective equipment, noticed symptoms and gained more information from them,
The individuals were on a priority list to be tested for COVID-19.
The officers who were exposed to the virus were isolated at a Saint Joh hotel while waiting for test results which came back negative late Tuesday night.
Police in the Kennebecasis Valley point out they will still respond to calls for service involving someone with COVID-19 symptoms but, knowing the potential risk in advance allows them the chance to protect themselves.
Inspector Anika Becker said the force is reasonably stocked with personal protective equipment for the time being and the force has taken several precautionary measures to protect their officers and ensure they have all they need to do their jobs safely.
