The screenwriter of the soon-to-be released major motion picture “Becky” says it was a challenge to do it from Nova Scotia.
Nick Morris, who grew up in Wentworth Valley and now lives in Halifax, says it wouldn’t have happened without the Internet and social media.
Morris said it’s only in the last decade he got serious about screenwriting, but he’s loved movies all his life.
“Ever since I was a kid, I grew up out in the country with no cable,” he said. “When that (VHS player) came home for the first time, that was a game changer for me. That’s where my love affair with the movies started.”
Morris said he put the script for “Becky” up on a screenwriting blog, and got a call from a producer in L.A. the same day in 2017.
He said he only visited the set once, but it was surreal to see his story come to life.
Becky comes to digital download and on-demand June 5.
