Teachers and students in New Brunswick have been adjusting to home learning options since schools shut down in March.
Riverview High School teacher Armand Doucet says the pandemic has made him realize how much he misses his students.
Doucet says schools have been working hard to try to bridge the equity gap and provide home learning options for students.
He says this method can be difficult if a student is not an independent learner.
“That’s something that I find as a teacher we’re connecting with them the way we can, but it’s not the same. I think most of my colleagues would say the same thing, that’s one of the hardest things for all of us,” he says.
Although it’s not what teachers signed up for, Doucet adds teaching is a calling and they’ve been trying to find solutions to figure things out.
Doucet admits he misses his students a lot and one of the most difficult things for him is not being able to see them every day.
