Hopes of a two province bubble with Prince Edward Island, might not be far off.
Premier Blaine Higgs says considering this for early summer is a reality, “Dr. Russell and her team will work with PEI. Looking at this for potentially early summer is a reality, but the next couple of weeks will be telling however because we are watching closely to what unfolds for the province over the next 14 days.”
He hasn’t ruled anything out at this point, “We are having those discussions going forward and throughout the summer, so we once again can get back to a reasonable normalcy will be our goal.”
As a part of phase three, or the yellow phase of the recovery plan, Premier Higgs says they’ve made the decision to allow family members from out of province, the opportunity to visit as well.
“Canadian residents who have immediate family in New Brunswick, including a parent, child, sibling, grandchild, grandparent or significant other, can come to the province as of June 19th, if they self isolate for 14 days upon arrival.”
As of Thursday afternoon, New Brunswick had 15 active cases of COVID-19. Eight residents and healthcare workers are from the long term care home, Manoir de la Vallee in Atholville.
One resident of the home who was previously diagnosed, has died.
