The New Brunswick College of Family Physicians has released its 2020 awards, honouring family physicians from around the province.
A familiar face earned this year’s Family Physician of the Year: the province’s Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Jennifer Russell.
A release issued about this year’s awards said Dr. Russell’s “high standard of professionalism is evident in all that she does to educate and empower informed decisions about COVID-19.”
The awards also recognized the provincial network of family physicians, granting an Award of Excellence to all family physicians in New Brunswick.
“As a sign of our gratitude and to recognize the hard work and dedication they provide to New Brunswickers daily, especially during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic,” the release stated.
The NBCFP Past President Dr. Darren Martin says this year’s winners are being recognized for their outstanding work province-wide.
“Our award recipients have demonstrated their ongoing commitment to many different facets of family medicine, teaching and research,” Dr. Martin said. “We commend them on their accomplishments and the positive difference they make to the people of New Brunswick.”
