An additional $1.1 million in federal funding has been announced to support national disability organizations across the country.
Disability Inclusion Minister Carla Qualtrough says it will allow for enhanced communication and engagement activities for Canadians with disabilities, during the pandemic.
She says accessible communications and the need for engagement was addressed as a key issue by the disability community and the COVID-19 Disability Advisory Group.
Since the beginning of National AccessAbility Week, which came to an end on Saturday, the Government announced up to $6.4 million over three years for up to 16 Canadian organizations.
Ottawa also announced a one-time payments of up to $600 for Canadians with disabilities.
