Questions from the Liberals during Question Period on Tuesday about when more Service New Brunswick Centres will reopen.
10 centres are open by appointment only.
Service New Brunswick Minister Sherry Wilson says some of the staff are assisting with calls on the toll-free Help Aid line set up during the COVID-19 crisis.
“That’s why we don’t have as many people in our service centres as we need to reopen them all right away. It’s all being looked at. There is going to be a gradual opening but, unlike other provinces, we have stayed open. We’ve been there serving the public and I’m proud of the work they have done,” Wilson said.
Moncton South MLA Cathy Rogers pressed for a specific list of when the rest of the service centres will reopen.
Wilson says more centres will be opening over the next couple of weeks.
The minister says of the 429 services offered by Service New Brunswick, in-person assistance is only required for 30 of them.
