A rude awakening for some people living on Duke Street in uptown Saint John when a car smashed into a tree early Thursday morning.
It happened shortly after 7 a.m. on Duke Street between Charlotte Street and Germain Street near the business Autotec.
Two people, who were in the car, managed to get out and leave the scene.
Saint John Police are looking into what happened and for the individuals involved.
