The Premier revealed in the Legislature on Thursday that 430 temporary foreign workers are currently in New Brunswick.
On Wednesday, public health announced one of the workers tested positive for COVID-19.
People’s Alliance leader Kris Austin asked Premier Higgs how the process to bring the workers here and isolate them failed.
Premier Blaine Higgs said in this case the workers were tested after being here for 10 days and one person’s results came back positive.
“One individual that’s been identified at this point. All the contact tracing for that person will be followed including any exposure to the outside. At this time, we don’t think there is any because those are the rules,” Higgs said.
Higgs says the temporary foreign workers arrive on chartered planes.
In the case of the person who tested positive, 158 people were on that flight.
