Subway Restaurants is adding 50,000 jobs across North America, including nearly 6,000 here in Canada.
It comes as the unemployment rate hit record levels on both sides of the border in recent months due to the pandemic.
In a statement, Subway said it recognizes the importance of providing safe, reliable job opportunities to those seeking employment.
“As our business continues to see a growing demand for our value offerings, curbside pick-up and delivery, we are happy to support such a large-scale employment opportunity to meet the demands of our guests,” said Aidan Hay, vice-president of operations for North America.
The company said job opportunities will be available ranging from entry-level positions to management.
Meanwhile, Subway says it continues to roll out safety procedures to protect restaurant employees and guests alike.
