Masks are now required to be worn by all passengers on Saint John Transit as well as public transit in Fredericton and Moncton.
The safety measure is to allow for increased seating on buses which will now operate at 50 per cent of their normal capacity.
Officials say if riders comply with the regulations, they’ll be able to increase service closer to pre-pandemic levels.
Children under two and those with medical conditions are exempt from wearing masks.
