The Department of Public Safety is seeking more information about an incident on Parlee Beach where a young bull moose drowned last week.
Conservation officers are looking for eyewitnesses and anyone who has photos or videos of what happened.
Officers say they are seeking facts since they have few details.
RCMP are not involved at this point.
On June 22, the Department of Natural Resources received calls about a moose in the Shediac Bay area and when officials arrived it was swimming about 500 metres offshore.
DNR used a boat in an attempt to guide the moose to shore but it eventually grew tired and later drowned.
On social media, the Atlantic Wildlife Institute posted it was outraged by the drowning.
AWI directed anger at beachgoers for causing the the moose stress and not leaving the animal alone while DNR tried to help it escape.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Sgt. Denis Leger at 506-856-2344 with the Department of Public Safety or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
