P.E.I. confirmed two more COVID-19 cases Sunday afternoon.
Prince Edward Island’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Heather Morrison, announced two new cases of the virus during a press conference.
The new cases are two people in their 20’s and were close contacts of the cases reported Saturday.
One of the islanders who tested positive on Saturday works at the Whisperwood Villa in P.E.I.
All residents and staff were tested and there have been no positive test results.
Morrison says they will test everyone in the long-term care home again later this week.
With the announcement of two new positive results on Sunday, that brings the total number of active cases up to 5.
