A well-known television host has passed away.
Regis Philbin died one month short of his 89th birthday.
Philbin began his media career in the 1960s after he served in the United States Navy.
He started hosting Live in 1988 and left the show 23 years later in 2011.
His co-hosts included Kathie Lee Gifford and Kelly Ripa.
Philbin also hosted several other television shows including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and America’s Got Talent.
His family says he passed away on Friday night of natural causes.
