Charges are not expected after a vehicle struck a power pole on Bayside Drive.
Saint John Police and emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 10:00 a.m. Monday morning.
Live wires from the broken pole fell on one person’s vehicle. The driver was told to stay inside until Saint John Energy crews arrived on scene to turn off the power.
Police don’t believe either driver suffered serious injuries.
Barricades were set up at Red Head Road and the Causeway as power crews continue to restore electricity.
Saint John Energy’s website shows power has been restored to all 1,000 customers affected.
Motorists can access businesses via Jarvis Lane from their respective sides while all other traffic must detour through Champlain Heights.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
