A car struck a utility pole on University Avenue in Millidgeville on Friday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the area just before 8 a.m. for reports of a collision.
Police spokesperson Jim Hennessy says when officers arrived, they found the driver trapped in the vehicle.
The driver was transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital.
