A 78-year-old man from Minto was killed in a collision Friday morning on Highway 10 between Fredericton and Minto.
Corporal Jullie Rogers-Marsh of the RCMP said the crash occurred just before 7 a.m.
“The collision is believed to have occurred when the trailer came loose from the northbound pickup truck colliding with the vehicle that was travelling southbound,” Rogers-Marsh said.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
The truck was hauling what is described as a two-axle dump trailer.
Minto RCMP, public safety officials and members of the Minto Fire Department all responded to the scene.
Highway 10 was closed for a few hours but has since reopened.
