It is New Brunswick Day and that means many places normally open on a Monday will not be.
Grocery stores, malls and big-box stores are all closed for the day, including Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore and Walmart.
If you need a prescription or sunscreen, some drug stores will be open on reduced hours.
NB Liquor and Cannabis NB stores are also closed, but agency liquor outlets will be open.
Banks, post offices and all government offices are all closed today, which means no mail delivery.
The Saint John City Market is closed today and there is no transit service.
Daytime garbage collection in Saint John moves to nighttime collection. You should have your garbage and compost curbside by between 6 and 9 p.m.
If you are unsure if something is open, it is best to call ahead.
Meanwhile, the province will team up with Saint John festival Area 506 for this year’s New Brunswick Day celebration.
According to a provincial release, the online event will feature live-streamed musical performances, and messages from well-known New Brunswickers.
Artists including David Myles, Les Hay Babies, and Bleum will make appearances on the stream.
The live stream will take place at 7 p.m. Monday.
